Triangle's Case
spotlight_e.jpg

Triangle is a 16 years old girl. She takes hours and hours dressing up. She always has to come up with outfits that make people turn their heads and look at her. For example, she would wear bright sparkly dress with rainbow pants. She sometimes violates the school dress code if she could make people stop and glance at her. At school, Triangle seems popular because she talks to everybody. However, many of her relationships are shallow because her "friends" get tired of having to pay attention to everything she does and being interrupted in their conversation, which Triangle dominates after interrupting. Moreover, Triangle tends to manipulate her relationships, which cause them to end up badly.
Triangle seems to be initiative. Once her excitement starts, she does her task. However, her stimulation and excitement fade shortly because she tends to get bored rather quickly. Despite her instant excitements, she continuously excels in one class: drama. This is the class where Triangle can fully express and exaggerate every movement and word she says. She feels most pleased when everybody watches her acting. Once, she even pretended to suicide to get their eyes focused on her.

Diagnosis:
Triangle has a Histrionic Personality Disorder and a bit of Narcissistic because she shows many symptoms of these two. Triangle obviously loves the attention that is coming to her, for example, she would violate dress codes and pretend to suicide. Also Triangle doesn't have a perfect relationship with her friends because her "friends" get tired of paying attention to her, she also interrupts during conservation which makes her friends tired of her. This is showing the symptom of Histrionic Personality Disorder. Triangle loves acting too, where all the attention is on her, she feels very pleases when everybody watches her acting, which is showing the symptoms of Narcissistic Personality Disorder. Because she expects people to recognize her as a perfectionist. A treatment that was found in the internet was Schema Therapy, which combines several therapeutic approaches like cognitive and behavioral. However Narcissistic Personality Disorder is known as the most challenging mental disorder to treat because this is treated individually. A way to cure Narcissistic Personality Disorder is to protect the individual from fearing that others will find out that they have imperfections.

Treatment therapy
The girl's issue is not that severe compared to those other mentally challenged people. I believe this is not a real issue, it just could be due to her strong sense of identity and style. She is just too into the idea of being the center of the crowd, and having everyones' attention to her. I think she should just try controlling her impulse of wanting attention. She should try not to interrupt others while they are talking. She should try to resist wanting too much to be the center of attention. But I believe her issue is nothing too severe. This is an issue she can take care of herself, and it won't take therapies or counseling to treat her uniqueness.
